Privacy Policy & Cookies
This information notice is provided in accordance with Article 13 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 of 2003, Code in relation to Personal Data Protection, to users of websites of Department of Mechanics, Mathematics and Management (hereafter known as “DMMM”) accessible from its homepage www.dmmm.poliba.it/


This policy is also inspired by EU Recommendation No. 2/2001, which European Authorities for the protection of Personal Data, part of Group established by Art. 29 of Directive No. 95/46/EC, adopted on 17 May 2001 to identify the minimum on-line data collection requirements, and specifically methods, terms and nature of information that must be provided  anyway when users connect to websites.

Personal data and Rights of Interested Parties

Personal data is any information (eg name) concerning an identified or identifiable person (Article 4 GDPR), even indirectly, or information (eg tax code, fingerprint, telephone traffic, image, voice) concerning a person whose identity can be ascertained through additional information.

Browsing Data

Computer systems and application processes of DMMM websites acquire, during their normal operations, some data whose transmission is implicit using Internet communication protocols.

These data are used for websites control and are not associated with identified users; however, by its nature and by association with third parties data, identification of data subjects can be allowed. This category includes, for example, IP address of system used to connect to DMMM websites.

These data are not accessible by users and are exclusively stored for liability investigations in case of computer crimes and can only be viewed upon request by the judicial authority.


Data provided by user

For browsing websites sections that require authentication  personal data are freely and voluntarily provided by users.

These personal data will be exclusively used for carrying out DMMM institutional activities, within the limits established by law.

The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of mails to addresses reported in DMMM web pages (eg teachers, staff, etc.)  entails  the subsequent acquisition of sender’s address, required to reply, along with any other personal data included in the message.

These data are only used to perform the requested services and are never communicated to third parties unless this is unavoidably necessary (eg computer crimes).


Cookies

Cookies are text files that are stored on users’  computers to allow safe and efficient web browsing and monitor its use.

DMMM websites use only technical session cookies which are indispensable to manage user's authentication when accessing reserved areas.

These cookies (which are not permanently saved on the user’s computer but are eliminated once the browser is closed) are used to transmit session details required to allow users to browse websites safely and efficiently.

By disabling these cookies, users  cannot access reserved areas.

Currently DMMM websites do not use Analytical/monitoring cookies (eg Google Analytics) or profiling cookies.


Third-party Cookies

DMMM websites use some features provided by other organizations ("Third parties") to improve browsing experience such as use of social networks (eg twitter, facebook) and inclusion of videos.

Information collected by third parties are processed and managed in accordance with its relevant policies.

For reference and to ensure transparency, the cookies and privacy policies are listed below.


Disabling Cookies

Users can deny consent to use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in their browser: nevertheless, all functions of DMMM websites will be available during non-authenticated navigation.

Disabling third-party cookies

Third-party cookies may be disabled following instructions available in relevant policies and/or made available directly by data controlling companies.

For example, to disable only Google Analytics cookies (used on www.poliba.it portal) users may install the opt-out add-on provided by Google for the most commonly used browsers.


Deleting previously stored cookies

Even if users deny consent to the use of external cookies, previous cookies may already have been stored on their device. For technical reasons, it is not possible to remove these cookies, however all browsers allow users to delete them by using privacy settings. Browser options include a "Delete navigation data" option, which can be used to delete cookies, website data and plug-ins.
